Position Summary

Student Life and Engagement’s (SLE) Business and Financial Services is seeking a candidate with accounting, financial reporting, project management, and supervisory experience. The position will direct unit operations, initiate, approve, and audit financial transactions, perform account reconciliation, financial analysis, generate financial reports, manage projects, and supervise and develop staff.  The position is expected to assist our operating partners by making recommendations on critical decisions.

Work will support functions in SLE’s Culinary Services Department and the Auxiliary Sports Group Department. Work is performed in 1855 Place (East Lansing, Michigan).

Work Hours: 

• Monday - Friday: 8 hours/day 
• Position is remote-friendly when competency is achieved.
• Infrequent weekends that may include home football games.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in accounting or a business-related field or in a field which corresponds to the particular department of employment; five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in office procedures and administration, or in performing responsibilities related to the operational activities of the employing unit; experience in a supervisory role; proficiency with word processing, database, spreadsheet, and presentation software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
