Senior Associate Athletic Director for Advancement- Athletics

Under the general supervision of the Director of Athletics, the incumbent will play a key role in developing the intermediate and long-term development efforts of the Hampton University Division of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Job Duties:
This position will primarily focus on major gift identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for facility projects, endowments, and annual donors.
This position will personally manage a principal/major gift donors/prospects portfolio of at least 75. The incumbent will also arrange for the solicitation and stewardship of gifts by the athletic director, coaches, and other staff, if needed.
The incumbent will oversee all aspects of the development program, including the Annual Fund, suites/club/courtside seats, facility campaigns, and endowments.
This position requires evening and weekend work during HU athletic and other special events as well as some regional and national travel

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree.
The most qualified candidates will also possess: demonstrated ability to independently plan, organize, and complete a variety of tasks in a high-paced environment; excellent interpersonal, relationship building, and oral, written, and electronic communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of donors, volunteers and staff.
Understanding of the operation of a major research university and passion for promoting its intercollegiate athletic programs.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, the Internet and database management software (e.g. Paciolan, Advance, Donor Advantage, etc.) required.
Understanding of Fundraising Move Management and the ability to succeed goals.
Qualifications:
A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of professional development experience or in a related field is required, preferably in an educational environment.
Master’s Degree in Sports Management or MBA, a minimum of two (2) years of major gift fundraising experience or closely related sales experience, preferably in an educational environment or university with a strong affinity for intercollegiate athletics and an understanding of NCAA rules are preferred.
