Senior Associate Athletics Director of Internal Operations & Business Strategy

Rowan University, a NCAA Division III member of the New Jersey Athletic Conference, is accepting applications for Senior Associate Athletics Director of Internal Operations & Business Strategy. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, our next leader will be charged with providing senior leadership for daily business management and oversight, and policies/procedures that support the department’s vision of Developing Purpose-Driven Champions. In addition to these objectives, daily administrative oversight will be provided for the areas of Human Resources and Staff Relations, Operations and Events, Fiscal Management and Reporting, Information Technology, and the Equipment Office.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide executive oversight of the department's financial and business operations, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities, NCAA regulations, conference requirements, and University policies.
  2. Lead long-range financial planning, budget strategy, resource allocation, and fiscal sustainability initiatives while developing and preparing the Department of Athletics' annual University operating budget, overseeing the preparation and submission of the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) report and other required financial reports, and advising senior athletic leadership on financial planning and strategic decision-making.
  3. Provide leadership and oversight for business operations personnel, financial reporting, budget analysis, internal controls, and departmental business practices to ensure consistent, efficient, and compliant operations.
  4. Develop and maintain systems to monitor departmental financial performance, track budget activity, identify financial trends, and help ensure operations remain within approved budget parameters while supporting efficient and accountable business practices.
