Job Summary  
The Senior Deputy Athletics Director will serve as part of the executive team and will be responsible for leading, monitoring, and ensuring successful operations within the Department of Athletics. Responsible for also serving as Chief Operating Officer and supporting the Director of Athletics where responsibilities include, but are not limited to, point of contact between AD and other stakeholders, act as an advisor when called upon, and the in absence of AD serve as one of the decision-making authorities in matters unrelated to sport supervision. Responsible for serving as a sport administrator for various sports programs as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

1.  Maintain an athletic program that is committed to the University’s mission and strategic priorities.
2. Represents the Athletics Director when not available and serves as consultant to the Athletics Director on all major programming and strategic planning.
3. Provide visionary leadership, strategic planning, and policy development for the athletics program.
4. Works to educate constituents on name, image, and likeness.
5. In collaboration with stakeholders, develop and execute an athletics strategic plan that supports the mission and strategic priorities of the College with appropriate performance benchmarks for effectiveness.
6. Works in conjunction with the Director of Athletics on fundraising initiatives to gain financial support and resources for the department of athletics.
7. Direct all administrative, operation and business functions for the Athletic department. Responsible for ensuring adequate and efficient internal functions including, but not limited to, budget planning, monitoring, forecasting, accounts payable and receivable, and contract management.
8. Provide an environment supporting personal and professional growth for employees through mentoring, regular performance evaluation and constructive feedback.
9. Collaborate with institutional and community colleagues to support University priorities, including academic success, retention, prevention of alcohol/drug use and sexual violence.
10. Ensure compliance with all University, federal, state, NCAA, and conference policies, rules and regulations, as well as all other laws, regulations, or policies affecting the athletic program.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications 

Master's degree from four-year college or university in management, finance, business, marketing, sport management, coaching, or other related field and ten or more years of intercollegiate athletics experience and/or combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications  

Postgraduate degree in higher education, sports administration, management, business or other related field.
