Full time employees are also eligible for the tuition waiver program which covers the cost of tuition and fees for up to three (3) undergraduate or graduate courses per academic year at
UNCW
or any other university within the
UNC
System. In addition,

covers the cost of tuition and fees for one

course each summer session.

The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for creating and delivering a wide variety of dynamic visual content, including video and graphic design for various platforms including social media for
UNCW
Athletics. In collaboration with Marketing, Creative/Streaming, ticket office and Communications teams, this position will support all
UNCW
Athletics efforts to attract, excite, and communicate with fans, followers, and prospective student-athletes. This position will develop content strategies that amplify
UNCW
Athletics 19 programs while building the brand affinity and supporting revenue generating efforts. This position will be a strategic leader for this unit. Work closely with
UNCW
Athletic programs and units to support initiatives from concept to completion while maintaining quality control of content.
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred education, professional skills and experience
One year or more of experience related to the area of an emerging media environment; or equivalent combination of training and experience
Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods; this includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media
Ability to think creatively in developing, designing, or creating new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products, including artistic contributions
Extensive functional knowledge of social media platforms, and experience managing/developing a Brand/ team website, and mobile app
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
Experience with Microsoft Office products
A valid driver’s license
