The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 24 intercollegiate sports, comprised of 14 women’s and 10 men’s programs, that compete at the Division I level. The Scarlet Knights are members of the prestigious Big Ten Conference, the nation’s premier academic and athletic conference, after officially joining the league on July 1, 2014. Known as “The Birthplace of College Football, Rutgers hosted Princeton on Nov. 6, 1869 in the first intercollegiate football game, with RU earning a 6-4 victory.
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Spirit Program Assistant Coach for the Athletics Marketing and Communication department. The primary purpose of the Assistant Coach, Spirit Program will be the technical training of the mascot team and assisting with game performances, based on experience, the individuals will be assigned various duties to support the spirit program.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:

The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position. Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

| Certifications/Licenses |
- AACCA certified.
- CPR certified.
- A valid driver’s license would be required for this position.
|
| Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Ability to be passionate and enthusiastic, assertive to do what is needed, and maintain composure/remain cool and calm under pressure.
- Willingness to work hard with a high level of energy and commitment to be the best.
- Willingness to go outside your comfort zone to push the team to a higher performance level every day.
- Good verbal and non-verbal communications skills.
