About the Job

The primary function of this position is to support the Spirit Squad administrative team by assisting with general administrative duties including creating documents, data entry, event planning, and event management. The work schedule is flexible during weekday office hours, and includes select weekends based on event schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general office tasks, including updating/creating documents and forms 
• Create spreadsheets for event and/or team data tracking and/or reporting 
• Assist the team by scheduling meetings, coordinating food and materials as requested, set up and/or take down
• Communicate with alumni, local teams/athletes, and parents about events 
• Events include: football games, basketball games, hockey games, parents’ day, clinics, competitions, alumni events, and more 
• Running errands as needed and upkeep of office (ordering paper, ink, other assorted materials) 
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to complete work as requested in a timely and efficient manner
• Ability to take initiative and work independently
• Ability to work flexible hours (nights, weekends, summer, and winter break)
• Reliable and willing to continually take on new responsibilities and learn new skills
• Experience with Google suite (Google Docs, Sheets, and Forms) and Microsoft Office

About the Department

The University of Minnesota (UMN) Spirit Squads is a group of student athletes, including the cheerleading team, dance team, hockey cheer squad, and mascot Goldy Gopher. The spirit squad consistently performs well at national competitions, winning multiple championships in dance and a national championship for their mascot Goldy Gopher.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Rang** e:** $17.00; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
