The Sports Information Director is the primary liaison between Park University Athletics and the news media, as well as the primary communications agent for Park Athletics. The Sports Information Director oversees www.parkathletics.com, Park Athletics social media outlets, and game day operations for all 18 varsity and reserve programs. The Sports Information Director is also the primary historian, statistician, and archivist for the Park University Department of Athletics.
Oversee the day-to-day administrative and office duties of the sports communications department.
Production and oversight of game-day programs, and other promotional materials department-wide.
Maintain broadcast, scoring, sound, and videoboard equipment.
Manage Park Athletics broadcasting efforts and communication with the Urban Edge Network in scheduling and adjusting broadcasts.
Production of pre- and post-game press releases for distribution of local, regional and national media as well as post on www.parkathletics.com.
In-game, seasonal and career statistical record keeping for Park Athletics using Presto statistical software. Report statistics nationally to the NAIA using Presto.
Provide photography and videography services, including coordinating with photographers/videographers for game day, as well as coordinating media days for all athletic programs.
Manage promotion and execution of game day themes for fan engagement
Maintain and deliver rosters and pronunciation guides for game day personnel, both for home and road contests.
Regular updating of school’s athletic website: www.parkathletics.com., working with SIDEARM.
Development of strong relationships with athletics and university staff, media outlets in addition to conference and national office staff.
Develop and implement plans to promote and market Park Athletics.
Deliver on sponsorship activations as outlined by Park’s Advancement Department

Ability to be an effective storyteller on Park Athletics social media and other forms of communication.
Provide support for athletics department functions
Other duties as assigned by the director of athletics and/or Park University executive staff.
Bachelor’s degree required; masters preferred.
Possesses strong written and oral communication skills with a background in media relations and/or journalism.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks. Creative thinker and high sense of self-motivation.
Experience with Presto Stats platform or other relevant stat software that can be transmitted through Presto Stats.
Knowledge of NAIA, Heart of America Athletic Conference, and College Sports Communicators publicity, branding, awards and statistical policies.
Ability to work various hours, including many nights and weekends.
Experience with InDesign desktop publishing software, Adobe Photoshop, and Premiere Pro. Other relevant design platforms are also accepted.
Experience as a student in a college sport information office setting.
Prefer at least four years of professional experience in sports information, sports communications, and athletics media relations.
Oversee and coordinate game day operations.
