Apply NowThe Sports Information student employee reports directly to the Sport Information Director and provides assistance in all aspects of the department. The student position works closely with department staff to promote all 20 sports through RamSports.net, social and news media outlets, as well as assists with the management of the Texas Wesleyan Game Day experience.
Federal Work-Study Awarded students preferred.
Electronic filing, data entry and organizing office materials and equipment News writing.
Assist with post-game recaps, pre-game stories and feature stories for all 20 of Texas Wesleyan Athletics programs.
Helps with the set-up, in-game and post-game duties as assigned.
Assist with the management of all Texas Wesleyan Athletics social media accounts on a daily basis.
Must be a current Texas Wesleyan student with at least 24 completed credit hours.
Journalism, live streaming, and working in a sports setting desired, but not required.
Graphic Design and Video Editing experience strongly desired as well as proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud elements.
Experience in working in an office setting and/or event management and promotion, as well as social media management a plus.
Applicants with a willingness to learn, or experience in stat programs such as DakStats and/or StatCrew desired.
Must have a working knowledge of individual sports including, but not limited to football, basketball, baseball, softball, and volleyball.
Candidates should possess an ability to write creatively and tell a compelling story.
Ability to manage multiple projects at one time desired.
Creative and critical thinking.
Ability to have a high energy personality and strong work ethic.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 software including but not limited to: Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, OneDrive.
Knowledge of standard and digital filing procedures.
Working knowledge of mainstream social media outlets.
The ability to meet deadlines, strong attention to detail.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and changing priorities.
Strong dependability – reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, while complying with
FERPA
regulations.
Ability to adhere to University & departmental policies and procedures.
Ability to attend events as scheduled.
Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Ability to complete all physical tasks and duties.
Ability to withstand exposure to outside weather conditions.
Ability to stand extended periods of time and climbing stadium stairs.
