Bachelor’s degree- Nutrition/Dietetics from an accredited institution & completion of Dietetic Internship.
• Able to work independently & effectively in a fast-paced, intense environment.• Possess strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Suite, PowerBi, Canva• Strong interpersonal skills• Experience working with body comp assessment tools such as bodpod and DEXA• Power 5 work or volunteer experience
Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian eligible w/ desired experience. Kentucky State Licensure upon hire or pending passing of RD exam.
• Able to lift, push & pull objects up to 50 lbs.• Able to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to work a non-standard work week which may include nights, weekends & holidays.
The Sports Nutrition Assistant is a 1-year position, renewable for up to a total of 2 years, based on performance evaluation by Director of Performance Nutrition.• Oversee nutrition volunteer staff (including staffing).• Manage & supervise the Nutrition Training Lab & other fuel zones as assigned regarding proper food safety & adherence to UK Performance Nutrition Standards.• Assist athletes at Training Table regarding performance goals.• Monitor Training Table for quality control & menu adherence.• Individual counseling with food log analysis & appropriate meal plans.• Educate regarding food selection (grocery store tours, food storage, use of per Diem/ DoorDash) and food preparation (cooking classes).• Develop & administer nutrition educations, including video message boards, training table/fuel zone nutrition education, team talks.• Meet with recruits for assigned teams.• Assist with individual & team game day travel operations for pre/post competition meals & hydration.• Attend team workouts, practices, and games to provide care, education, and fuel necessary for peak performance. (This and previous bullet are similar?)• Provide medical nutrition therapy, as needed, to help manage and treat medical conditions including but not limited to type 1 diabetes, food allergies, bone mineral disturbances, GI complaints, iron depletion, iron deficiencies, amenorrhea, gluten intolerance, and lactose intolerance.• Assess and analyze dietary practices, body composition, and energy balance of student athletes in the context of athletic performance and health.• Assess and counsel student-athletes and staff on the appropriate and legal use of dietary supplements in accordance with NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) regulations and nutrition-related bylaws.• Assist in managing social media & website.• Communicating daily with athletic trainers, strength coaches & physicians.• Assist with managing & monitoring snack/supplement distribution including ordering, shipping & receiving.• Collaborate with food service providers to develop, manage, order & receive team menus for catered meals.• Other duties as assigned by Director.Please include a Resume, Cover Letter and 3 professional references with name and contact information.
