· Directing all phases of the sports performance program, including developing, implementing, and monitoring specialized year round sport-specific sports performance programs for all

intercollegiate athletic programs.
· Enabling student-athletes to perform to their physical potential in their sport by developing and managing individual and group weight, strength and fitness training programs.
· Developing each program by evaluating current physical conditioning, having a knowledge of the various sports and associated exercises.
· Motivating student-athletes with regards to strength and conditioning and sports performance, fitness, and nutrition.
· Assist head coaches with scheduling sports performance activities.
· Develop and implement policies and procedures for sports performance management.
Miscellaneous:
Manage, supervise and schedule all team strength and conditioning workouts and activities for all intercollegiate athletic programs. Design strength and conditioning program to improve flexibility, endurance, strength, power, speed, agility and explosive movements as well as design effective testing programs to monitor these areas. Work with the head athletic trainer to assess student-athlete needs and implement and oversee rehabilitation protocols for injured athletes. Work with all head coaches to develop and implement a conditioning program for physical development of all student-athletes
Minimum Qualifications
| Education |
Bachelor’s degree required, masters preferred.

| Experience |
Minimum of three (3) years experience in a strength and conditioning environment, preferably in an intercollegiate athletic department.
|
| Knowledge Skills and Abilities |
All staff members have a duty to cooperate with and furnish the NCAA, the conference office or the institution with truthful and complete information concerning involvement in or knowledge of rules violations. A football coach or staff member may be suspended or terminated if found to be involved in deliberate and serious violations of NCAA of CIAA regulations.

| Conditions of Employment |
Must be certified through a nationally recognized strength and conditioning program.
Please be advised, COVID-19 vaccinations are not required but encouraged for faculty and staff to be employed at Bowie State University.
