Coastal Carolina University seeks applications for the position of
Spray Technician
in Sports Turf and Golf Course Operations.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Spray prescribed amounts of fertilizer, insecticide, herbicide and fungicide, using hoses and truck-mounted tanks;
· Assist Superintendent with planning current and long-range spray programs and correct calibrations of all spray equipment;
· Maintain daily spray records and proper chemical inventory;
· Maintain chemical storage and mixing areas in compliance with county, state, and federal regulations;
· Responsible for the direct preventive maintenance of all equipment associated with the task of spraying; and
· Maintain assigned equipment in good condition and responsible for the safe operation, security, and cleanliness of equipment while in possession.
Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent (
GED
) and two (2) years of related experience is required. An associate’s degree in Sports Turf, Sports Turf Management, or a related field and previous experience with turf, horticulture, and/or landscape maintenance is preferred. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and a category 3 SC Pesticide Applicator License.

-S00989P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 04. Salary range: $31,561.00 (minimum) – $44,977.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Friday, 8:00 am to 12:30 pm. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. Must be able to work alone and in a team environment. Must be able to work additional hours, possibly weekends, as required to include inclement weather and other events as needed.
