Apply NowThe Graduate Assistant (GA) will work 20 hours per week and receive up to 12 credits of tuition and student fee waivers: 9 for spring and 3 for summer.
Description of Duties:
The GA for Fitness/Recreation/Wellness will assist with the planning and implementation of a comprehensive on-campus general fitness/recreation/wellness program, exercise incentives, individualized programming and special events for the student population.
The GA will gain experience in the daily management of a busy collegiate fitness center, including policy development and enforcement, membership registration procedures, facility scheduling and inspection, student employee supervision (indirect), and customer service. Instruction on budgeting, purchasing, installation and equipment layout procedures will also be available to the GA.
The GA might be assigned opening and/or closing shifts and will assist in the implementation and improvement of the Long Term Equipment Replacement Plan.
Additional responsibilities will include the assistance with certain isolated home events for athletics contests or maintenance of the Great Hill Trails. Emphasis will be placed upon the development of hands-on practical skills in order to complement both classroom and laboratory instruction provided by the graduate degree program.

Personal Training and/or Strength & Conditioning certification
Ability to work evenings and/or weekends
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift 45 pounds with or without accommodation
