The role oversees executive operations, special events, financial and administrative coordination, and all athletic communications, including media relations, digital content, statistics, publications, and brand management. The position plays a critical role in supporting departmental leadership, advancing institutional visibility, and ensuring compliance with conference, NAIA, and University standards.
Serve as Chief of Staff to the Director of Athletics, providing executive-level administrative and operational support.
Coordinate leadership meetings, strategic initiatives, departmental priorities, and prepare reports, presentations, and background materials.
Maintain discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information while overseeing office operations, records management, and workflow prioritization.
Assist with special projects and Athletic Foundation initiatives, including planning and execution of internal and external events.
Monitor budgets, financial records, spreadsheets, expense reporting, work orders, and inventory/supplies management.
Serve as primary media relations contact, coordinating interviews and media access for coaches and student-athletes.
Write, edit, and distribute press releases, feature stories, game recaps, and official departmental communications.
Oversee creation and production of athletic publications, promotional materials, and maintain historical records and statistics.
Ensure accuracy of statistical reporting using NCAA and conference-approved software and systems.
Manage and update the Athletics website, social media platforms, digital storytelling, video content, and brand alignment.
Supervise game-day communications and information operations, including press box management, real-time statistics, and media logistics.
Ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional policies; submit required reports, nominations, and supervise student workers and support staff while modeling inclusive leadership.
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Sport Management, or related field.
Minimum three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in collegiate athletics administration, athletic communications, sports information, or a related field.
Master's degree in a related field.
Experience serving in an athletic department with administrative and communications responsibilities.
Knowledge of NCAA, conference, and institutional compliance requirements.
$50,173 - $55,000 Annually

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
