Under the Supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director (AD) of Sports Performance and the Director of Football Performance, the Strength and Conditioning Assistant will serve as a member of the Towson University Athletic Department’s multidisciplinary Performance Team and will work directly with student-athletes, athletic trainers, dietitian, coaches, and other exercise science and allied health personnel to deliver comprehensive, practical, and evidence-based performance strategies for Towson University student-athletes. The position is aimed to provide professional experience for individuals who are looking for additional experience following graduation from a bachelor's degree program as they transition into full time employment, working independently as a collegiate strength and conditioning coach.
The incumbent will work in a team environment and assist with the daily operations of the strength and conditioning program for varsity student-athletes; provide proper supervision, instruction in exercise to reduce the risk of injury, and ensure safe equipment usage; assist with movement screenings; assist with the design and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for a variety of men's and women's athletic teams and individual athletes as assigned by the Assistant AD for Sports Performance which includes: communication, coordination, and collaboration with athletic trainers regarding biomechanical assessments as well as implementation of exercise modification, recovery techniques, and return to participation protocols for athletes returning from injury; supervision and teaching progression, resistance training, cardiovascular, speed, plyometric, flexibility and functional movement, record keeping and monitoring progress; design off-season and summer workout programs utilizing electronic means.

Salary and Benefits
$18.22 per hour and a contract that offers annual leave, holidays, sick days. Contractual employees scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage. The position is contingent on funds being available at time of hire.
