| Primary Function of Organizational Unit |
The NCCU Department of Athletics’ primary purpose is to provide leadership for an NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics program. The NCCU Department of Athletics places the highest priority on a quality academic and athletic experience as part of the overall education of student-athletes. The Department of Athletics seeks to strengthen the integration of the athletics program objectives with academic development objectives.

| Primary Purpose of Position |
This position will report to the Director of Sports Performance. This position will develop and implement strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programs for assigned teams. Supervise the daily operation of the weight room and implementation of individualized strength, speed, conditioning, and flexibility programs for student-athletics in all assigned intercollegiate sports programs. Responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the university, and the NCAA. This position may perform other duties as assigned.

| Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- The successful candidates will possess a strong work ethic, enthusiasm and the long-term goal of working in the collegiate strength & conditioning profession. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communications skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and the ability to work nights/weekends.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the university, and the NCAA.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, analyze problems and devise solutions.

| Minimum Education/Experience |
- Bachelor’s degree and 1 years of related experience at a NCAA Division I institution.
- Working knowledge of the physical training demands for various team and individual sports; ability to demonstrate communication skills necessary for dealing with student-athletes, coaching staff, and administrative personnel.

| Licenses or Certification required by Statute or Regulation |
- Must acquire S.C.C.C (Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified) or C.S.C.S (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) before or after hire.
- First Aid/CPR certified.
