Job Summary

The Student Assistant will support Georgia Southern University Athletics as an Equipment Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2024.

This position will assist the Assistant Equipment Manager with day-to-day equipment operations for Women's Basketball. Georgia Southern Athletics sponsors 17 sports at the NCAA Division I level as a member of the Sun Belt Conference.

Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

Responsibilities

• Assist with receiving, inventorying, distributing, and retrieving all materials for staff and athletes as assigned by the Director & Assistant Equipment Manager
• Work practices and work directly with a position coach or coaches
• Laundry
• Assist with the packing for team travel, setting up locker rooms & cleaning of equipment
• Provide customer service to coaches and student-athletes

Shift Specifics

• Up to 20 hours per week
• Requires work on evenings and weekends
• May require work on holidays

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

• Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Proposed Salary

$7.50 per hour
