Student-Athlete Academic AdvisorCoastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following position: Student-Athlete Academic Advisor in the Department of Student-Athlete Academic Services. Duties include, but are not limited to:· Provide individual one-on-one academic assistance, including but not limited to: registration, class schedules, creating academic support plans, design & implementing workshops, coordinate appointments and assist with connecting student-athletes to campus resources.· Travel with assigned teams for competitions when needed.· Monitor academic progress of assigned student-athletes to ensure appropriate learning services and resources are available to meet the individual academic needs.· Monitor and report student-athlete academic progress rate (APR) based on NCAA eligibility guidelines; work closely with the compliance office and registrar to ensure records are accurate and that assigned students meet university and NCAA academic requirements; updates all relevant parties.· Assist with recruiting weekends and new student-athlete orientation activities. Requirements: A master’s degree and experience in student services programs is required. Two (2) years of direct experience providing academic services to student-athletes is preferred. Salary range: $37,860.00 (minimum) – $53,957.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:00am to 12:30pm. May require weekends and travel as needed. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.
Master’s degree and experience in student services programs required.
Two (2) years of direct experience providing academicservices to student-athletes.
Consultation skills. Competency with culturally diverse populations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to exercise good judgment. Commitment to adhere to NCAA, Sun Belt Conference, and Coastal Carolina University regulations, as well as the mission, vision, and philosophy of the Student-Athlete Academic Support services unit. Knowledge of the NCAA initial and continuing eligibility rules.
Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This position will work Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm. May require weekends and travel as needed.
