The Center for Student Success helps students identify obstacles or challenges to student success, develop strategies to overcome them, and provide support systems and resources.
The Student-Athlete Success Services Assistant aids in providing support to the Student-Athlete Success Services (
SASS
) Office through workshop development and facilitation, creating and administering a weekly newsletter to student-athletes, and representing
SASS
at key University events. This position works with student-athlete success coaches, athletic coaches, and student-athletes to achieve department goals. Additionally, this position assists with report creation and data analysis regarding study hall, student meetings, and workshop attendance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Related to Position
Ability to communicate and work with Department of Athletics coaches, administration, and Student-Athlete Success Services staff
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
Excellent computer skills to include, calendars and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent skills with Google Mail and Drives
Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:
Experience in academic affairs or student affairs in a college or university setting.
Experience as a student-athlete, coach, and/or educator at a

entitle the incumbent to Commonwealth of Virginia benefits and is limited to 1500 hours in a 365-day period;
Selected candidate will be required to attend a 2-Day New Employee Orientation Program.
