Job Summary:
Student Development for Athletes at St. John's University, a Division I program with membership in the Big East Conference, is seeking qualified candidates for a Student-Athlete Support Services Assistant position. The Student Development for Athletes programs provide a wide range of services from the recruiting stage through the graduation. The program focuses on four key areas: Academic Support, Career Development, Leadership, and Community Service. Reporting to Eric Rienecker, Associate Athletic Director Student Support Services, the Student Athlete Support Services Assistant will assist in the implementation of Student Development programming and coordinate special events for the Student Athlete Center for Excellence; be responsible for all general office operations including supervision of part-time student workers; and serve as a resource for the student development team, all coaches, staff and 300 student athletes.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position manages hiring, training, supervision, guidance, and feedback of all part-time staff. This part-time staff includes approximately 35 graduate assistants, student workers, work study workers, tutors, academic coaches, and supplemental instruction leaders. The training and supervision role of this position is to ensure academic integrity and strict adherence to the NCAA, Big East, and University policies and procedures.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional office environment. This position requires you to use standard office equipment such as personal computers, printers, etc.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. With this position, there is also flexibility in working events and weekend hours

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual salary range for this position is $37,400 to $40,490. St. John’s University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
This position may be relocated to any of St. John’s University’s physical locations at any time.
