Job Summary:
The Lamar Sports Medicine Department is seeking individuals to assist with the daily functions and operations of the athletic training room.
Responsibilities:
Team Events โ Assist with daily practice operations and home and away competition operation in support of Lamar Sports Medicine. Included but not limited to set up and breakdown of athletic training equipment used for practices and games, as well as provided hydration to athletes during events.
Equipment Maintenance โ Assist in the maintenance, cleanliness and organization of athletic training equipment and facilities. Included but not limited to washing, drying and folding laundry, disinfecting treatments tables, rehab equipment and coolers, and wiping down and storing water bottles and coolers daily.
Other duties as assigned by staff athletic trainers.
Other:
Flexible schedule, ability to accommodate last-minute changes in shift times
Athletic attire/athleisure required dress code, closed-toe athletic shoes
Regular use of chemical cleaning products.
Weekend availability required
Reliable and timely transportation to and from campus 7 days/week
Athletic background preferred but not necessary
Basic first aid knowledge required

Certification preferred
Routine lifting of heavy weight is required. Applicant must be able to lift heavy equipment on frequent occasions. Pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, and running are all considered routine and essential.
Ability to be on feet for 3 consecutive hours in outdoor environment is required. Applicant must be able to withstand daily exposure to outdoor elements โ sun, wind, rain, snow, hot and cold temperatures.
Ability to walk, bend, stand, and reach constantly during a work day/shift.
Must be physically fit to lift/move equipment
Must be able to lift 25-50 pounds.
Ability to participate in sustained activities for several hours
Extended periods of standing.
Travel may be required.
Some night and weekend hours.
