The Student Athletics Manager will report to the Director of Athletics. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Student Athletics Manager will be responsible for the following duties:

•  Provide administrative management and evaluation research within sport program; expand collaboration with other departments and align objectives with the college-wide strategic goals.
•  Maintain financial compliance within the confines of all city, state, and NCAA regulations, including gaming licenses for events and potential fund- raising events.
•  Prepare quarterly reconciliations of all budgets, for effective management.
•  Participate in capital improvements from development to executions, with various college offices, within budget perspective.
• Identify revenue streams to expand the management and launch of merchandising program.
• Oversee office personnel; lead and support additional staff; produce proposal for department internship program; and utilize College Work Study program to increase department’s efficiencies.
• Represent the college on NCAA, CUNYAC and other committees, as assigned.
•  Manage coaching responsibilities as needed; such as organizing teams activities.
•  Encourage professionalism and performance improvement activities; demonstrate self-development for effective leadership.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Bachelor's degree and six years' related experience required.

 

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
 

Master’s Degree with six years of progressively responsible full time experience in an intercollegiate athletics environment are preferred. The candidate must have strong organizational skills with the ability to establish priorities, manage multiple demands, various projects and meet deadlines. Familiarity with game management, social media platforms, and NCAA requirements from statistics to bylaws. Excellent oral, written, computer/technology, social media and interpersonal communication skills are essential. Experience in an urban, diverse, dynamic, team oriented, as well as a self-motivated environment.

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

  Manages selected aspects of intercollegiate, intramural and recreational athletics staff, programs, facilities and activities.

• Oversees and coordinates day-to-day operations for varsity sports, supervising coaching and event staff

• Manages one or more athletic facilities

• Administers scheduling and other arrangements for athletic contests and events

• Supervises the intramural and recreation program

• Produces athletic publications through various media sources; develops and produces marketing and promotional programs

• Maintain computer files, statistics, and reports on all data related to the athletics program

• Oversees academic progress of student athletes and works with other College units to assure their academic and personal success

• Performs related duties as assigned.

Salary commensurate with education and experience ($79,188 - $93,491).
