POSITION DETAILS

 

The Student Athletics Trainer will report to the Deputy Director of Athletics. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Student Athletics Trainer will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Assists in the management and administration of quality Athletic Training Program for all varsity athletics programs
  • Provides oversight of the Athletics Training and Strength & Conditioning Services
  • Oversees medical services during practice and competitions throughout the academic year
  • Assists in the preparation and maintenance appropriate athletic injury care records and reports as required following all NCAA, HIPPA, and NATA guidelines
  • Follows and enforces all Hunter Collège, National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC medical policies and procedures
  •  Assists and oversees First Aid/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training and certification session for staff
  •  Assists in overall department operations, where assigned and needed
  •  Represents Hunter College with other medical professionals, insurance companies, hospitals, and etc.; where appropriate and necessary
  •  Manages multiple teams and responsibilities
  •  Work schedule will include early mornings, evenings, weekends and some holidays
