Being a Student Manager is an opportunity to be actively involved with Newman University Athletics on a first hand basis. As part of our program, student managers will have the opportunity to travel with teams on road trips, and gain insight into the daily activities required for operating a collegiate basketball program. Student managers also receive athletic apparel for work.

 

Responsibilities:

1. Attend practices and games
2. Assist in recruiting student athletes to Newman University
3. Assist in fundraising events
4. Assist in coaching student-athletes including evaluating their performance in practices and competition and providing leadership and instruction
5. Assist with scouting
6. Assist head coach in preparation and conduct of practices and games
7. Complete university-required trainings including Title IX
8. Perform all other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Head Coach, the sport administrator, and/or the Director of Athletics

 

Requirements:

1. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
2. Must be a current Newman University student enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 credit hours)
3. A general knowledge of athletic events, background in sports preferred
4. Must be punctual and motivated
5. Must remain in good academic standing, which is a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00

Rate of Pay: $8.25 per hour
