The Student Production Assistant supports live athletic events by assisting with media production, event logistics, and technical operations. This role is essential to delivering high-quality gameday experiences and maintaining institutional standards for broadcast, branding, and compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and operate video boards, cameras, and streaming equipment
- Assist with live broadcast production and scoreboard operations
- Support media relations staff with interviews, press conferences, and content capture
- Help manage credentialing, access control, and sponsor activations
- Monitor NIL signage and ensure compliance with institutional guidelines
- Coordinate pregame and postgame logistics (team arrivals, press areas, field setup)
- Troubleshoot technical issues during events
- Maintain inventory and ensure safe handling of production equipment
- Assist with crowd flow, emergency protocols, and staff communications

General Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Enrolled as a current student in good academic standing
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and during athletic seasons
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Interest in sports media, journalism, or event operations
Specific Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with live production tools (e.g., Production Truck, YoloBox, VMix)
- Familiarity with HBCU traditions and athletic branding
- Coursework or experience in media, communications, or sports management
