Job Description:

Position: Athletics Gameday Management Staff (Communications)

Revision Date: 7/17, 8/22

Reports to: Director of Athletic Communications

Department: Athletics

Salary Grade: Tier I

FSLA Status: Non-exempt

Location of Position: Merritt Fitness Center, McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, MD 21157

Duration of Appointment: Academic School Year

Scope: Provide support for athletic events, including opportunities as Public Address Announcers, Official Scorers, Statisticians, Clock and Scoreboard Operators as well as office support related to events.

Responsibilities:

Serve in various capacities to ensure proper operation of intercollegiate athletic contests:

• Clock and Scoreboard Operation
• Statistical Support
• Public Address Announcing

Provide support in office for athletic contests pre- and post-event:

• Assist with production of game day programs
• File appropriate statistical reports for archiving
• Update cumulative season and career records

Assist with historical research and compilation of archives in digital form
Assist with preparation for each sport season

• Roster compilation
• Postgame Media List compilation
• File biographical forms appropriately, alphabetically by sport

Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Current McDaniel undergraduate
• Eligible for work study through Financial Aid package
• Computer literate
• Ability to follow explicit directions
• Self-starter
• Ability to perform multiple tasks
• Knowledge of various sports preferred and helpful

Physical Characteristics:

• Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required
• Ability to sit in one location for up to two hours may be necessary
• Events may be held in adverse weather conditions
