The Sustainable Athletics Intern will be responsible for helping to develop internal sustainable athletics practices. This intern will work closely with Athletics operations staff, patrons of IU athletic events, and users of athletic facilities to create guidelines for and implement more sustainable athletics practices and research new ways to reduce the environmental impact of athletic events. This intern will gain hands on experience in project management, program development, collaboration, communication, and more. Â

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must occasionally move objects up to 30 pounds. This position requires the ability to detect object both near and far away.Â
Laptop / computer use (e.g. Microsoft Office and email) and cellphones are required. Occasional use of printers/copiers, university data and communication software, and office provided supplies.

The work is performed equally in a remote and office setting. This student employee will be expected to work at least 1 day in the office for mentor and bi-weekly full team meetings, and the remainder of their work will be done remotely, on or off campus. At times, workload requires being outdoors or in high traffic indoor / outdoor campus spaces. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
