IU Athletics on the Bloomington campus is hiring a Systems Administrator. Athletics IT supports the IT needs of approximately 300 full time employees and 700 student athletes. We have a wide variety of office and sports technology that we support and this position is responsible for providing the server infrastructure that enables that support both on and off the field. While we support many athletics events throughout the year, we strive to maintain a good work/life balance and are flexible with your home schedule.
Whether you like sports or not, IU Athletics is a fun and interesting place to work with unique challenges. We are a highly visible production environment that supports HIPAA, FERPA, and PCI use cases, and we have decades worth of media that we need to ensure is available for decades to come. IU Athletics uses a co-location strategy and house our physical servers at both the IU Bloomington Data Center and the IUPUI Data Center. While an infrequent need, the person in this role will need the ability to get to Indianapolis as required to perform server maintenance. IU Athletics can provide a vehicle for transportation if the candidate has a valid drivers license and is over 21 years of age.
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
We will provide training on the systems to be supported should the need for supporting Athletics events arise.

This position is eligible to work a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs. Given the nature of our department, an in-office presence will be required most days of the week.
