Arizona Athletics is seeking a Technical Director of Broadcast. The Technical Director will function as one of the technical leads for event productions and is responsible for set up and operation of the production switcher and associated technical equipment in the control room environment.
This position requires the ability work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

The principal objective of the position is to execute operations on the production switcher, specifically Ross, under the guidance of the Producer or Director.
Responsible for switching and routing sources using a combination of multiple MEs and auxiliary outputs.
Liaison with production teams to identify programming broadcast features in an effort to become more visible on multiple broadcast platforms.
Manage production content for broadcasts or presentations, responsible for setting up content within thesystem, operating, and controlling the production of events.
Manage show build, pre-production, and live events. Orchestrate control room set up while simultaneously evaluating and assigning all video inputs taking into consideration timing and video levels.
Oversee software, equipment, and technical needs, implement strategies to ensure broadcasts will run smoothly.
Create action plans for technical issues, finding ways to resolve problems in a timely and efficient manner.
Oversee multimedia and graphic projects requiring the use of communication and technology, graphic design concepts and programs, and videography to create a broadcast.
Collaborates with the Director and Producer to execute the technical requirements and vision for each production.
Manage equipment purchases, performing preventive maintenance, and setting and enforcing safe-use guidelines.
Monitor systems and find ways to improve technology.
Lead audio, graphics, replay and cameras during production set up and coordinate their equipment and show elements to ensure work passes through the production switcher.
Apply design techniques to conceive ideas and designs for each broadcast across all platforms.
Additional duties as assigned.

Experience with leadership skills as well as great people skills since the relationship between the Director, Engineering, Technical Staff and other are paramount.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
Three years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Experience in college athletics broadcasting.
Experience with operating various models of video switchers, digital effects devices and other associated ancillary equipment.
Experience working on broadcast events, showing ownership and accountability for assigned projects.
Diverse background in live sporting events such as camera and/or video playback experience.
