The position is full-time 12-month appointment specifically providing clinical services to the university’s student athlete population.
The duties include providing individual psychotherapy, crisis intervention, performance enhancement, and psychotherapy groups for USC student athletes. Other responsibilities include clinical ADHD evaluations (no testing), outreach, assisting with programming, assisting with research, and supervised team performance enhancement facilitation and training. The postdoctoral fellow will work under the supervision of a California licensed psychologist with specialization in sport psychology. USC is an NCAA Division I University with 21 teams and approximately 600 student athletes.

Applicants with a Doctorate in Counseling or Clinical psychology from an APA-accredited program and have completed an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship are strongly preferred. Strong clinical skills and experience are required. They must also demonstrate an interest in sport performance and/or academic preparation in sport psychology. Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds is essential. Experience as a college athlete would be helpful, but not necessary. Organizational skills, follow through, excellent boundaries, openness to feedback, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and a responsible manner are all essential to this position.

This is a staff position in the Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. The position is full-time. Salary is competitive, and contingent on experience. A generous benefits package includes health insurance, sick time.

The hourly rate range for this position is $22.41 - $29.10. Minimum Education: Master's degree
Minimum Experience: 1 year
Minimum Field of Expertise: Counseling experience. California license eligible. Knowledge of safety precautions appropriate to clinical setting.
