LOUISVILLE ATHLETICS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Television Production for UofL Athletics originates over 150 live sporting events annually for ACC Network Extra, the league’s dedicated digital channel that is available to ESPN authenticated subscribers via ESPN3 on WatchESPN and the ESPN app. Multiple news conferences and other programming are also streamed live through the official web site for the athletics department. UofL is also preparing for the launch of a linear ACC Network in 2019.

Learning objectives for the Television Production Intern include, but are not limited to:

• Learn to forecast live production needs and operations (i.e., event staffing, equipment need and setup, and production of live broadcast).
• Gain ability to execute all aspects of live sporting events
• Develop ability to create "game melts"/game highlights and distribute to conference, ESPN and other institutions during post-production
• Develop skill to operate current media/sports broadcasting technology (e.g., Ross Video equipment, which is used by all ACC and SEC broadcast partners of ESPN)
• Develop ability to critically think and problem solve under fast-paced conditions
• Develop ability to work with others and communicate effectively in a professional setting
• Demonstrate professional, ethical workplace behavior
