Overview
UMD Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking an Assistant Football Coach.  The incumbent will provide support to the head coach in maintaining a highly competitive and successful Division II football program in a manner compatible with the department and University philosophy, and in compliance with NCAA and conference rules and regulations.  

Coaching Duties

  • Support student-athletes by fostering a positive team culture and supporting mental wellness. 
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships within the athletic department, the University, community, booster clubs, alumni, high school coaches, media and the general public. Represent in a positive fashion the University and its athletic programs in private and public forums. Commit to adhering to all rules and regulations.
  • Instruct and teach student athletes in the fundamentals of football sport technique and strategy.
  • Assist in monitoring the academic performance of student athletes to help them achieve full potential. 
  • Plans and execute practice and competition plans including evaluation of opponents.
  • Evaluate and recruit qualified student athletes to UMD whose athletic skills make them highly competitive and whose academic abilities make them good candidates for our student population.
