Position Overview:
Stephens College is seeking a dedicated and organized Athletic Department Intern for Athletic Administration. This internship offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in the administrative aspects of managing a collegiate athletic program. The intern will assist in various administrative tasks, supporting the overall operations of the athletic department.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Administrative Support:
Assist with daily administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.
Support the preparation and organization of athletic department documents and records.
Help coordinate travel arrangements and itineraries for athletic teams.
2. Event Coordination:
Assist in planning and executing athletic events, including game-day operations, special events, and banquets.
Coordinate logistics for events, such as facility setup, staffing, and equipment needs.
Provide on-site support during events to ensure smooth operations.
3. Compliance and Reporting:
Assist in maintaining compliance with NAIA, conference, and institutional regulations.
Help prepare and submit required reports and documentation.
Support the monitoring of student-athlete eligibility and academic progress.
4. Financial Administration:
Assist with budget tracking and financial record-keeping.
Support the processing of expense reports and purchase orders.
Help manage fundraising activities and donor relations.
5. Communication and Marketing:
Assist in developing and distributing promotional materials for athletic programs.
Support the management of the athletic department’s website and social media platforms.
Help coordinate communication between the athletic department, coaches, student-athletes, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Pursuing a degree in sports management, business administration, or a related field.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Passion for sports and a commitment to promoting student-athlete success.
Availability to work evenings and weekends as required.
