VCSU Student - Athletic Merchandise Assistant

Position Information

Position Summary: 

As a student assistant for the athletic department’s merchandise store, your primary role is to attend the storefront and handle merchandise sales during the week and during VCSU home athletic competitions in the Bubble. These responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining the storefront, ensuring the store is properly stocked with product, interacting with customers, and managing a social media page for the store. Work up to 10 hours per week and during home athletic competitions.

• Performs other duties as required or assigned pertinent to the position.
• Must be a positive role model on and off the job.
• Must know and abide by all University rules and regulations.
• Must maintain a positive attitude toward the position.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Be a full-time undergraduate student (basic).
• Minimum of 10 hours per week
• Self-motivated and ability to work unsupervised.
• Training will be provided
• Ability to make decisions with minimal supervision.
• Good interpersonal skills 
• Experience with customer service- common courtesy in working with students, employees, and the public.
• Good organization and time management skills.
• Money handling skills

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift packages up to 30-40 lbs for the purpose of stocking or storing merchandise product
