About Louisiana Tech Athletics
The Bulldogs and Lady Techsters of Louisiana Tech currently sponsor seven men’s and nine women’s varsity sports programs at the NCAA Division I level. Competing as members of Conference USA, the athletics department’s student-athletes have continued to excel on and off the field of play. The Lady Techsters basketball team has enjoyed tremendous success as they have won the 1981, 1982, and 1988 National Championships. These teams were led by then player, Basketball Hall of Fame and Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame Coach, Kim Mulkey. Across all sports, Louisiana Tech has captured 42 national titles, 164 conference titles, and 9 conference division titles.
Success would not be possible without the state-of-the-art facilities at Louisiana Tech. Men’s and Women’s Basketball currently play their games at the Thomas Assembly Center, Football competes at Joe Aillet Stadium, Baseball competes at J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park, and Softball competes at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field. Position Summary
Reporting to the President and as a member of the President’s Cabinet, the Vice President & Director of Athletics leads an intercollegiate athletics department consisting of about 350 men and women student-athletes and a staff of approximately 116 people. The Vice President & Director of Athletics will ensure that all areas of the Athletics Department demonstrate a commitment to maintaining compliance with NCAA, C-USA, Louisiana Tech, and State of Louisiana rules and regulations. The Vice President & Director of Athletics will lead and guide the department to competing as a high-level Group of Five athletic department.
