Job Description:

Budget title:  Instructional Support Associate (SL-2)

Salary:  $33,121 (part-time, 60% FTE)

Binghamton University, a NCAA Division I institution and member of the America East Conference, is seeking a Video Coordinator / Assistant Men's Basketball Coach.  This role plays a critical role in the success of the men's basketball program by overseeing all video operations while assisting with player development, scouting, recruiting support, and practice planning. This position is responsible for managing game and practice film, conducting opponent and personnel analysis, and providing video and statistical insights to enhance team performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

Video Operations

• Coordinate all video-related aspects of the men's basketball program.
• Utilize Synergy Sports and Keemotion video software to capture, manage, analyze, and distribute game and practice footage.
• Film, edit, organize, and archive all team practices, games, and special events.
• Break down game and practice film to identify team and individual performance trends.
• Prepare and present video clips for team meetings, coaching staff reviews, and player development sessions.
• Maintain video equipment and ensure all technology systems operate efficiently.

Scouting and Analytics

• Conduct comprehensive opponent scouting through video analysis and statistical review.
• Prepare scouting reports, video presentations, and game plans for coaching staff and student-athletes.
• Analyze player personnel, including opponent tendencies, strengths, weaknesses, and matchup opportunities.
• Assist in developing game strategies based on film review and analytics.
• Track team and individual performance metrics throughout the season.

Coaching and Player Development

• Assist with planning and conducting practices, workouts, and skill-development sessions.
• Collaborate with the coaching staff in developing daily practice plans.
• Support individual player development through film study and performance evaluation.
• Provide feedback to student-athletes using video and statistical analysis.
• Assist with game preparation, bench coaching responsibilities, and post-game evaluations.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Coordinate video exchange and film-sharing requirements with conference and NCAA regulations.
• Manage team video database and digital archives.
• Assist with recruiting operations by evaluating prospective student-athletes through film analysis.
• Support special projects as assigned by the Head Coach.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree (or higher)
• Coaching, video coordination, or basketball operations experience at the collegiate, professional, or high school level
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience using Synergy Sports, Keemotion, or other basketball video-analysis platforms
• Experience breaking down game and practice film, creating detailed scouting reports and presentations

Preferred:

• Experience in NCAA Division I basketball
• Knowledge of advanced basketball analytics and performance metrics
• Experience with recruiting evaluations and player personnel assessment
