Position Summary
Salem College, an NCAA Division III member institution and member of the USA South Athletic Conference, is seeking a passionate, energetic, and student-centered individual to serve as a Volunteer Assistant Softball Coach. This position will assist the Head Softball Coach in all aspects of operating a successful collegiate softball program while supporting the academic, athletic, and personal development of student-athletes.
The Volunteer Assistant Softball Coach will play a key role in student-athlete development, practice planning, game preparation, and fostering a positive and competitive team culture. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy, emphasizing academic achievement, leadership development, and competitive excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Required Qualifications
· HS Diploma required (bachelor’s degree Preferred)
· Previous playing and/or coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level preferred
· Strong knowledge of fundamentals, strategies, and player development
· Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
· Commitment to supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion
This is a volunteer position and does not include monetary compensation. However, the position may provide valuable coaching experience, networking opportunities, and potential professional development within collegiate athletics.
Physical Functions
While performing the responsibilities of the Volunteer Assistant Softball Coach the employee is required to sit for varying lengths of time; bend, reach, lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds;
