We’re looking for candidates who have:

1. Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience required. A minimum of one to five years coaching experience at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) level is preferred.
2. Positive attitude and ability to work effectively with a variety of personalities. Ability to effectively motivate and supervise student-athletes using a traditional, evangelical Christian approach, and willingly support the CCU athletic department.
3. Accomplishments in developing basketball skills and bringing out the potential in student-athletes – both in the classroom and on the court.
4. Demonstrated initiative and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
5. Knowledge of and adherence to all rules and regulations pertaining to the basketball program as established by the NCAA, Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC), and CCU.
6. Strong analytical, problem-solving, detail-orientation, and organizational skills.
7. Strong technology skills, particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

The Assistant Women's Basketball Coach is responsible, along with the head coach, to foster Christ-centered community and spiritual development among student-athletes, invest in the team’s ability to succeed in their individual academic goals, and provide opportunities for the team to engage with the world through meaningful service.

_ Teaching and Mentoring _

1. Develop student-athletes in their spiritual walk with Christ by setting a positive example, leading devotions, and developing other programs to engage student athletes in thoughtful servant leadership. This may include mentoring players, aiding student athletes with attaining career goals, and organizing a team activities.  
2. Assist student-athletes with their academic success. This may include helping with class schedules, collaborating with the Life Directions Center, monitoring academic progress, communicating with professors, and following up with student-athletes with effective and clear communication.   
3. Spend significant time teaching techniques to develop skills that will improve individual athletes and the team as a whole. Assess opportunities for improvement through observation of practices and games and provide feedback and coaching to improve individual and team success.

_ Recruitment _

1. Identify student-athletes for review by head coach who fit CCU’s model of Christ centered athletics.
2. Compile and maintain records and needed information about all prospects, including all transcripts, clearinghouse forms, test scores, game schedules, and game film.
3. Coordinate communications and organize home visits, campus visits, and on-campus meetings for prospective student-athletes.

_ Travel Coordination _

1. Gather all travel information including times, dates, costs and other information as needed.
2. Secure travel arrangements and provide trip itinerary to team including room assignments, practice times, curfews, meetings, etc.
3. Establish study hall while on the road.
4. Coordinate with the transportation coordinator to set up vans or buses for local games, reserve vans for all departures and arrivals, and assign drivers.

Basketball Program Coordination

1. Organize team logistics and coordinate details. This encompasses overseeing team equipment and needed supplies, working with others to arrange for team travel, managing tournament logistics, and coordination with the CCU Athletic Training Department.
2. Responsible for game day management and determining game strategy in collaboration with the head coach. May include scouting preparation and communication with team. Will help manage statistics and other analytics to assist with preparation before and/or during games.
3. Assist head coach with promoting and executing team events.
4. Promote the head coach’s philosophy and implement the head coach’s system of athlete development.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk, stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, speak with clarity, and have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. You will be required to work irregular hours, including some nights and weekends. Local and regional travel is expected. National travel may occur. Colorado Christian University expects all faculty and staff to become a part of the University community by participating in activities and events that occur on the campus throughout the year, which may occur during evenings and weekends.

The pay range for this job is $36,000 - $41,000 annually. Pay is assigned by reviewing a combination of job-related factors that may include: internal/external pay equity, the salary structure/pay grade, or a candidate’s qualifications/experience for the job. A wage range posted is not a guarantee of a specific wage and CCU reserves the right to make pay decisions based on economic and equity considerations. Spiritual Requirements

1. Committed follower of Jesus Christ, who believes there is no salvation apart from faith in his atonement on the cross, by grace alone becoming "born again" thus beginning a personal relationship with Christ, the Son of God.
2. Able to effectively communicate personal faith and apply biblical principles and convictions in the workplace. Must have a strong sense of calling to the ministry of Colorado Christian University.
3. Regularly attend and be engaged in meaningful involvement in a Bible-believing evangelical local church. Knowledgeable about the Word of God and passionate about Christian education.
4. Must be a traditional evangelical Christian whose lifestyle is in consonance with sound Christian principles, is compatible with CCU’s Statement of Faith, and is in agreement with the Strategic Priorities promulgated by the University.
