Apply NowTexas Wesleyan University is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as the Head Coach for the Women’s Flag Football team. This position will be responsible for leading and developing a competitive women’s flag football program in accordance with the standards and rules set by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (
NAIA
). The Head Coach will be expected to foster an environment that promotes student-athlete success both academically and athletically.
The candidate must:
* Have a strong focus on student-athlete academic success.
* Insist on exemplary student-athlete behaviors both on campus and in public.
* Have extensive coaching experience at either the high school or college level.

• Plan, organize, and execute all aspects of the women’s flag football program including practices, competitions, and player development.
• Recruit and retain student-athletes who demonstrate academic and athletic excellence, ensuring compliance with
NAIA
, university, and conference regulations.
• Monitor and support the academic progress of student-athletes, ensuring they meet both athletic eligibility and academic standards
• Promote a culture of sportsmanship, discipline, and respect within the team.
• Collaborate with athletic administration to manage the program’s budget effectively.
• Ensure compliance with
NAIA
rules and regulations.
• Oversee and ensure compliance with all applicable university and athletic program policies and procedures, including Title IX, internal administrative controls, compliance reporting, and academic standards.

• Promote an atmosphere of compliance within your program and provide necessary training and education to students, staff, and external stakeholders on relevant compliance and institutional
matters.
• Coordinate with the athletic training staff to ensure the health and safety of student-athletes.
• Manage team travel arrangements, equipment orders, and other logistical needs.
• Engage in public relations and community outreach efforts to enhance the visibility of the women’s flag football program and the university’s athletics department.
• Participate in and support the university’s fundraising efforts, in coordination with the university’s advancement office and practices.
• Oversee and manage relationships with external and internal stakeholders, including booster clubs, in order to maintain and promote institutional control over your sport program.
• Manage fundraising, purchasing, media interaction, and recruiting contact by external stakeholders of your sport program and coordinate those activities with the proper University office.
• Communicate, cooperate and assist the athletic and institutional staff with the daily management of all facets of the sport program.
• Coordinate promotional events and strategies [for all athletic activities] for home contests in conjunction with the Sports Information Director and the Marketing and Communications Office.
• Complete normal maintenance and upkeep of flag football fields to ensure a safe competitive area.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Valid Texas driver’s license required.
• Experience with
NAIA
or similar collegiate athletic programs.
• Head collegiate or high school coaching experience preferred, or also having played the sport at a high level (i.e. college or professional)
• Demonstrated success in recruiting and building competitive teams.
• Coaching strategies specific to flag football
• Knowledge of
NCAA
and
NAIA
rules for flag football.
• Familiarity with
NAIA
rules and procedures.
• Instructing student-athletes relative to specific skill necessary to compete in collegiate Women’s Flag Football
• Previous coaching experience in flag football or related sports, preferably at the collegiate level.
• Strong knowledge of
NAIA
rules and regulations.
• Ability to recruit, develop, and mentor student-athletes.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Commitment to fostering a positive student-athlete experience on and off the field.
