Head Women’s Basketball Coach

The Head Women’s Basketball Coach is accountable for all aspects of the women’s basketball
program and is committed to the academic and overall mission of the University. The Head Coach
is responsible for coaching, recruitment and retention of student athletes, budget management,
scheduling, fundraising, and the supervision and evaluation of student athletes and assistant
coaches.

Experience and Education requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
• Minimum 3 years’ basketball coaching experience at the collegiate, high school, and/or

club level required; head coach of women’s collegiate team preferred; collegiate basketball
playing experience preferred

• Experience working effectively in diverse environments
• Demonstrated success with student athlete recruiting preferred

Responsibilities are, but not limited to:

• Providing organization, direction, and administration of the Women’s basketball program in

accordance with the mission of the University

• Coaching, mentoring, and providing leadership to student-athletes for a competitive and

positive experience

• Recruiting academically and athletically talented student-athletes for the program.
• Coordinating travel arrangements for away games.
• Hiring, supervising, and evaluating assistant coaches and program volunteers.
• Engaging in fund-raising and marketing for the program in collaboration with Institutional

Development department

• Adhering to Brescia University, Rivers States Conference, NAIA, and any other appropriate

governing body policies and procedures
