Job Description

Purpose of Position and Scope of Responsibility:  The Women's Soccer Assistant Coach supports the Head Women's Soccer Coach in all aspects of the university's women's soccer program. This position is responsible for assisting with the recruitment, development, and mentoring of student-athletes while promoting academic success, character development, and competitive excellence. The Assistant Coach helps foster a positive team culture that reflects the mission, values, and standards of the University and its athletic department, while ensuring compliance with all institutional and conference regulations.

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

1.  Assist the Head Women's Soccer Coach in planning, organizing, and conducting team practices, training sessions, and game-day activities. 

2.  Provide technical and tactical instruction to student-athletes to enhance individual and team performance. 

3.  Assist with scouting opponents, analyzing game film, and developing practice and game strategies. 

4.  Recruit qualified prospective student-athletes in accordance with university, conference, and governing association rules and regulations. 

5.  Build and maintain relationships with prospective student-athletes, families, high school and club coaches. 

6.  Monitor and support the academic progress, personal development, and overall well-being of student-athletes. 

7.  Promote sportsmanship, discipline, leadership, and teamwork while serving as a positive role model.
