The Women’s Tennis Assistant Coach & Adult Programming Coordinator is responsible for teaching athletic skills, strategies and techniques in the sport and mentor the student athletes by utilizing coaching methodologies in a competitive sport environment and fostering academic achievement of the students. This role also oversees all adult programming.
• Bachelor’s degree
• 2 years of tennis coaching or related experience.
• 1 year of program coordination or related experience
• Prior experience leading lessons, camps, or clinics.
• Experience teaching tennis to adults and all levels
• Experience organizing athletic events and tournaments
• Valid Texas Driver’s License.
• Must be insurable under the university motor vehicle requirements.
• None
• Knowledge of teaching and coaching skills in sport.
• Knowledge of all aspects of the sport.
• Knowledge of basic counseling techniques.
• Knowledge of NCAA guidelines.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and relationship management practices.
• Skill in problem-solving and decision-making in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, sponsors, and stakeholders.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays, as required by event schedules.

• Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
• Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
• Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
• Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
• Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.
• Work is indoors/outdoors and active and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
• This role is an on campus, in-person position.
• There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
• The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
