Hamilton College is seeking applications for the position of Head Coach of Women’s Tennis and Instructor/Assistant Professor of Physical Education. Responsibilities of this full-time faculty position include overseeing all aspects of the women’s tennis program, including coaching, recruitment, scheduling, budget and roster management, equipment purchasing and maintenance, and travel planning. In addition to coaching, responsibilities also include teaching classes in the Physical Education program and completing administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Athletic Director. This faculty position requires institutional service after the first year.
The Department of Physical Education, Athletics, Recreation, and Wellness at Hamilton College consists of over twenty faculty with a wide array of interests, skills, and expertise in the sports, lifetime activity and wellness areas. Faculty maintain both administrative and head coaching positions within the department, and are complimented and supported by an extensive support staff of assistant coaches, specialized staff and administrators. Faculty regularly attend national sport specific conferences and conventions, and serve on association wide committees. Athletically, Hamilton is a founding member of the prestigious, highly competitive NESCAC (New England Small College Athletic Conference). The faculty teach a wide variety of activity and wellness classes in the Physical Education program, a necessary requirement for graduation. Qualifications will determine faculty rank. Bachelor's degree required; Master's or other terminal degree in hand or to be completed within 3 years. Successful college coaching experience is strongly preferred. We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate their experience in teaching or working with broadly diverse student populations.
