About This Role:
The Lamar University Work-Study Nutritionist role is intended for undergraduates who qualify for work-study interested in gaining experience in collegiate athletics. This position will allow the opportunity to work with Division I student-athletes, while also developing administrative skills (Ex. budgeting, inventory, etc.). The position will work directly with all 17 sports teams and will be the lead assistant to our Full-Time Registered Dietitian (RD) on-campus, while serving an integral role in the Lamar University Athletics Department. Position reports directly to the Strength & Conditioning Coordinator.
What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities
Upkeep of the Lamar University Athletics Market Basket Nutrition Center
Daily food preparation
Team/1-on-1 nutrition consultations (under RD supervision)
Road meal/Game day planning (under RD supervision)
Other duties as assigned by the Strength & Conditioning Coordinator & RD
Skills Required:
Ability to collaborate with other staff members within the Lamar University Athletics department and the Lamar University College of Education and Human Development
\Must be receptive to feedback/constructive criticism and adaptable to a variety of situations
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to process scientific research and communicate information to student-athletes effectively and efficiently

Understanding and following of confidentiality/privacy rules and regulations
Strict adherence to established

, Southland Conference, Lamar University and Texas State University System rules and regulations. A violation of these rules and regulations can lead to disciplinary action including termination.
