Position Summary

The Texas Wesleyan University XC-Track Department is looking for student employee who will assist in various activities offered on campus.
 
 Federal Work-Study Awarded students preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with the set-up and take-down before and after meets
• Assist with the setup and execution of workouts.
• Assist in tournaments, camps, fundraisers and other XC-Track related activities and events.
• Student will work various hours depending on need.
• Due to the variances between the needs of each sport, coaching staff, and Athletic Director, other duties as needed may be assigned. Such duties will be discussed with the employee.

Education, Certifications and/or Licenses

Experience

• Experience working in xc-track setting strongly preferred.
• Assistant experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability and willingness to work supervised.
• Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures, including filing.
• Ability to work effectively, diplomatically and professionally with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
• Ability to exercise judgment in establishing and executing priorities.
• Ability to understand and meet coaches, and staff needs and expectations.
• Ability to adhere to University & departmental policies and procedures.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and events in a fluid, changing environment.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, blue prints and schematic.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to complete all physical tasks and duties.
• Ability to move around campus running errands.
• Ability to withstand exposure to outside weather conditions.
• Ability to stand extended periods of time.
