Arizona Athletics is seeking a highly motivated and innovative individual to join our team as the Assistant Athletics Director for Innovation and Analytics. This position is responsible for driving strategic initiatives related to organizational planning, professional development, and analytics within the Athletics Department. The successful candidate will leverage data-driven insights to optimize the performance and engagement of our staff, ensuring that Arizona Athletics remains at the forefront of innovation in college sports. This role is particularly significant in light of the revenue share and findings from the Arizona Athletics EY Report.
This position requires the ability work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and travel as needed.

Strategic Planning:
Develop approaches that bring Athletic strategies to a new modernized era of college athletics. Implement comprehensive strategies that align with the department's goals andobjectives in light of the changing college landscape.
Conduct workforce analysis compared to Top 25 programs and Power 4 institutions to identify current and future needs. Responsible for training others on newly developed methods and techniques.
Collaborate with department leaders to create plans and strategies. Build and manage leadership training and information sharing.
Analytics and Data Management:
Develop and maintain dashboards and reports. Using these advanced analytics identify risk trends, new issues, and potential impacts to the department and University.
Develop as the subject matter expert on university systems, allowing for multiple opportunities to inform others of future trends in the industry. Continually update senior leadership of research and findings; keeping them knowledgeable of recent trends.
Lead and conduct in-depth rick assessments across various departmental functions, including financial operations, internal operations, external operations, and compliance as they relate to the changing regulatory model in college athletics.
Oversee the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive risk management assessment.
Utilize data to identify trends, forecast workforce needs, and inform decision-making.
Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on data analysis in light of the Arizona Athletics EY Report.
Compliance and Policy Management:
Ensure compliance with university policies, NCAA regulations, and other relevant standards.
In coordination with the Associate AD, Administration, oversees department processes and guidelines.
Manage Athletics Department policies and procedures and assist in policy development, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Responsible for NCAA Compliance Attestation requirements and submissions.
Collaborate with the athletics department special events group on events and activities involving our department staff, including but not limited to, Welcome Back BBQ and CATSYS.
Oversees Edge Training for all athletics department staff.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
Lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement and organizational culture.
Foster a culture of innovation by introducing new tools, technologies, and processes.
Implement employee development programs to enhance skills and career growth.
Collaboration and Communication:
Coordinates strategic communication efforts in conjunction with department communications staff, oversees internal communication, listservs, newsletters, education portals, and department intranet.
Working with leaders in the NCAA and across various campuses develop and maintain risk profiles for the department.
Responsible for the weekly department Cats Courier and communication on other staff initiatives.
Collaborate with other colleges and universities facing similar challenges; drawing from own experiences finding ways to further collaboration and communication within the department and with other colleges and universities.
Leadership
Supervise any assigned staff, student workers, graduate assistants, and/or interns.
Assist the Athletics Team with onboarding, new employee orientation, etc. as necessary.
Additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to lead and manage projects from concept to completion.
Familiarity with NCAA regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.
Proficiency in workforce analytics tools and software.
Ability to use innovation and creativity.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
Five years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and workexperience.
Master's Degree.

Experience with team collaboration and communication.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University’s campuses. These reports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
