This position plays a key role in enhancing student-athlete engagement, growth opportunities, and the overall quality of the student-athlete experience while supporting the mission and values of Arizona Christian University.

General Job Brief
The Assistant Athletic Director - Student Athlete Experience provides leadership for student-athlete experience initiatives, club and developmental sports coordination, and operational support across the Athletics Department. This position plays a key role in enhancing student-athlete engagement, growth opportunities, and the overall quality of the student-athlete experience while supporting the mission and values of Arizona Christian University.
This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of and commitment to the unique Christian mission and vision of ACU to Transform Culture with Truth, and the ability to advance that mission and vision through the performance of its duties, including person-to-person mentorship and discipleship.
Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities
Provide oversight and operational coordination for club sports, developmental teams, and emerging programs.
Assist with retention-focused initiatives and student support efforts in collaboration with coaches and Student Development staff.
Assist in the engagement of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Student-Athlete Leadership, and Game Day Experience leadership teams.
Collaborate with other departmental staff on game day logistics and communications.
Collaborate with Student Development on selected campus traditions in an effort to engage the campus community.
Assist with athletics department special events, home football games, and postseason hosting opportunities.
Initiate and support student-athlete and team recognition opportunities.
Engage with student-athletes on feedback initiatives and student concerns.
Support the Christian mission, values, and culture of Arizona Christian University in all responsibilities and interactions.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics or designee.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Completing other duties and tasks with utmost integrity and professionalism, as directed and not necessarily mentioned in this description, will be expected.
Commitment to the University’s faith statement, mission, and purposes; and an active Christian faith.
Comfort and familiarity with the practice of praying with and for others, including students, faculty, and fellow University staff.
The ability to meaningfully support and encourage students, faculty, and staff from a biblical worldview perspective, using relevant and applicable references from the Old and New Testaments and orthodox Christian writings.
Demonstrated alignment with and enthusiastic support for the Christian Mission and Core Commitments of the University, including signing the University's Statement of Faith and Core Commitments annually.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred)
Prior experience overseeing club sports, collegiate athletics, campus recreation, or student organizations.
Experience supervising coaches, staff, or student leaders.
Knowledge of game-day operations, event management, and competitive scheduling.
Familiarity with sports information operations, website management, and digital content coordination.
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required by the competitive schedule.
Working Conditions
General intercollegiate sports environment.
Meeting with coaches as needed in a general office or campus setting.
Some travel for off-campus home events.

This position is considered to be full-time, exempt for overtime pay provisions as provided by the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and any applicable state laws.
