Dakota State University is accepting applications for an Assistant Athletic Trainer. The position will work 11 months out the year (July 22 – June 21).
Responsibilities
:
Injury Prevention and Treatment
: Implement effective injury prevention strategies and provide timely treatment for student-athletes.
Rehabilitation Programs
: Develop and oversee rehabilitation programs to facilitate the recovery of injured athletes, ensuring a safe return to play.
Game Day Coverage
: Provide on-site coverage during practices and game days, offering immediate care for injuries and coordinating emergency response plans.
Documentation and Reporting
: Maintain detailed and accurate records of injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation plans. Generate comprehensive reports for coaching staff and other healthcare professionals.
Communication
: Maintain open communication with coaches, athletes, and other healthcare professionals to create a seamless support system during game days.
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Athletic Training or related field.

Must have or be eligible for South Dakota state licensure
Previous experience in collegiate or high-level athletic training setting is preferred.
Be available for significant evening and weekend commitments to provide consistent coverage during high-impact athletic events.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
