Assistant Coach, Women's Basketball
Apply NowThe Assistant Coach, Women’s Basketball will support the head women’s basketball coach in overseeing all aspects of the women’s basketball program in accordance with
NCAA
, American Athletic Conference, University, and Athletic Department rules and regulations.
Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Assist the head coach in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competition
Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes
Assist the Head Coach, as directed, in the recruitment and selection of student-athletes in accordance with
NCAA
rules and university standards
Establish a productive, well-rounded environment which stresses the importance of academics in conjunction with athletics
Establish a professional relationship with students, staff, alumni and the general public in an effort to promote the university and its athletics program
Work closely with athletic training, academics, and strength and conditioning to monitor the progress of student athletes
Support the student-athlete concept and demonstrates concern for the health, safety, and welfare of each student-athlete
Work cooperatively and responsibly with other departmental personnel
Other duties as assigned by Head Women’s Basketball Coach
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of prior coaching experience; OR, equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
Coordination of recruiting; collegiate coaching experience; knowledge of and demonstrated commitment to
NCAA
rules and regulations.
Excellent written and oral communication and organizational skills
Strong self-starter
Ability to work within the American Athletic Conference
Knowledge of
NCAA
rules and regulations
Ability to work closely with a diverse group of people
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree
Minimal to Moderate Physical Demands
