Typical Duties
Duties, Tasks, Responsibilities
Assists the Head Coach in the following areas:
Day-to-day operations
Recruitment to meet roster goals
Equipment inventory management
Practice preparation
Game day preparation and scheduling
Varsity and club and/or JV oversight as directed
Academic accountability
Community service
Intentional Christian faith integration
Fundraising
Provides spiritual guidance, prayer, and support for the team
Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Completing other duties and tasks with utmost integrity and professionalism, as directed, and not necessarily mentioned in this description, will be expected.
Commitment to the University’s faith statement, mission, and purposes; and an active Christian faith.
Comfort and familiarity with the practice of praying with and for others, including students, faculty, and fellow University staff.
The ability to meaningfully support and encourage students, faculty, and staff from a biblical worldview perspective, using relevant and applicable references from the Old and New Testaments and orthodox Christian writings.
Demonstrated alignment with and enthusiastic support for the Christian Mission and Core Commitments of the University, including signing the University's Statement of Faith and Core Commitments annually.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree
Playing or coaching experience in their sport
Demonstrated connection to the Christian Mission and Core Commitments of the University
Working Conditions
General basketball environment
Office hours to accomplish administrative tasks Meeting with student-athletes as needed
Travel to competition and recruitment as needed
Time Required
Standard college basketball calendar for in-season and out-of-season
